The Denver Zoo is a wonderful zoo located right in the heart of Denver. This large zoo is home to several hundred different animals and is perfectly laid out to spend the day with your family.
Several of the exhibits allow you to get very close to the animals. You can be right next to the tiger with just a window pane separating you from this large cat, the monkeys can swing right above your head (not enclosed!), and there are several seals who will put on an entertaining show for their guests.
I absolutely love this zoo and we have been here several times (with and without kids!). I also love that it is flat, unlike the Cheyenne Mountain Zoo which is built into the side of the mountain and is steep in areas.
The main thing that this zoo is lacking compared to the Cheyenne Mountain Zoo is the ability to feed the animals. But this zoo makes up for it in so many ways, such as the new exhibits that are constantly being built and the wide variety of animals that are present.
