My kids are huge fans of swimming, so as long as there’s water they’re happy!
This is the first time that we have taken our kids to a hot springs. We had extended family in town, so the Indian Hot Springs was a good sort-of central place to meet. Located west of Denver off of I-70, it took us about an hour and a half to get there from Colorado Springs. Our boys were 2.5 and 13 months at the time.
The main check-in area is a little run down and has a hippie-ish vibe to place. The main pool is enclosed, and the water was a good temperature for little boys. I was worried that it would be too hot, but that was not the case.
While the hot springs was kid-friendly, the locker rooms most definitely were not. They are small, there’s barely any room to lay a kid down to change them, and the showers are cramped. However, it can be done, just be mentally prepared ahead of time.
Also, there may or may not be humans that are not fully clothed… I personally did not witness this but rumor has it some parts are *clothing optional.* It definitely adds to the hippie vibe.
